Petrela Castle Tour- Skanderbeg & Illyrians: We start our walk from Mamica Square with the first stop at Petrela Fortress where we will have a coffee to start our day. Proceeding to the fortress, we learn about its history. Soon after we walk through the village of Petrela along an old road, through the olive groves featuring amazing views of the surrounding hills and countryside. This walk can be as long or as short as we want it from 5km to 10km.  We will visit the historic Persqopi, a 2500-year-old ruin of an ancient Illyrian city. We continue our trek around the mountain to find a tomb of an ancient Illyrian king (or Queen) high above Tirana. Returning to the road, we head back towards the village, circling the largest mountain in the Krrabe range, where Castle Petrela comes back into view high above. 

When we visit Petrela, we love to have lunch at Fustanella a local agrotourism offering local produce and products. 

What to Bring: walking shoes and be prepared for all weather. 2 liters of water & small snacks.
