Bodin Fortress – Group Tour

This tour will take us to Bodin Fortress, a cultural heritage monument in Bodin, Elbasan District. Our hike starts from 'Fshati i Ri' - Kakunja (New Village) and continues on to the Old Kakunje. We will visit here the ruins of Shen Marie church. This trail will take us across areas with typical old homes now abandoned and beautiful natural settings until a tall standing rock, named "Askolaj". We cover part of this trail on "Kakunja Waterfall" tour but this walk/hike will take us deeper into the villages.

A nice local restaurant is located at the end of the trail. We have the option to consume a traditional lunch here, but . (Lunch at own expense)

Technical Info: We reach an elevation of about 600m, a distance of approximately  1km, for a duration of 4-5 hours which makes this a trail doable by all levels of fitness. The terrain is soft on the hillside and rocky/alpine at parts. 

What to Bring: Hiking shoes, rain/wind jacket, light layers, poles if you have them. Please always have with you healthy snacks: dried fruits, nuts, fresh fruit & 1.5 liters of water!
