This hike takes us to the picturesque area of Koplik, in Mirdita overseeing Mat river at full flow during winter months. There are a few interesting attractions we visit during our walk and these include Kisha e T'Shëlbuemit Rubik or Rubik Monastery, Kalaja e Judejve or Giant's Fortress, and finally a set of ancient pictograms drawn on a rock face. The trail itself is considered moderate not for its elevation but for the fact that it's an unbeaten path in a very unexplored area thus the trail is narrow at parts and not groomed in any way. The terrain is soft and rocky at parts. We will aim to start our walk around 10 am and complete it by 2 pm. At the end of our walk, we have the option to lunch at a simple local traditional restaurant. Lunch is at your own expense.

Technical Info: We reach an elevation of about 350m, a distance of approximately 10 km, a duration of 3.5 -4 hours which makes this a moderate trail. 

What to Bring: Hiking shoes, wind jacket, rain poncho, a warm layer, warm hat and gloves, poles if you have them. Please always have with you snacks: dried fruits, nuts, fresh fruit. Must have 1 liter of water with you during the winter months and 1.5 ltr during the rest of the year!
