Mt. Bukanik – Group Hike

This tour takes us to the village of Gjinar located 24 km from Elbasan. This area is known for its beautiful nature and cured rolling hills blessed with an amazing view of Mt. Tomorr.  Gjinar is slowly converting into a tourist destination due to its picturesque views, clean mountain air, and ice-cold natural springs. We have the option of doing a shorter version of this hike for part of the group and all the way to the peak for the eager. We encourage you to have a small sandwich with you and at the end of our day (a bit longer than usual) we will decide if we want to stay for lunch in the village. 

Technical Info: Our travel time to destination is 1 hr 20 min (each way). On this trail we reach a total elevation of 830 m and a distance of 9 km. We reach the peak in about 3 hours and complete the return in approximately 2 hours. You can choose to have a shorter version and start your rest time at 700 m elevation, and wait the return of the group. This trail is 95% in the forest (shade) making this hike ideal for the summer.

What to Wear: Hiking shoes, windbreaker, hat & sunscreen.  Poles if you have them, especially for the downhill part. Please always have with you a snack: dried fruits, nuts, fresh fruit, and min. 1.5 liters of water (more during summer months)
