We start our day in Tirana, driving approximately 60 km towards Kamara Bridge located in the vicinity of Librazhd. We will make an interesting detour visiting one of the stations of Egnatia in the vicinity of Elbasan. After this visit we will proceed towards our destination.
'Via Egnatia' was a road constructed by the Romans in the 2nd century BC. It crossed Illyricum, Macedonia, and Thrace, running through territory that is now part of modern Albania, North Macedonia, Greece, and European Turkey. We start our walk by crossing Shkumbin River via Kamara Bridge, a cobblestone ottoman bridge built in 1715, and continue uphill to reach Via Egnatia. The walk is considered moderate, with 466 m elevation, 6km total length for a duration of approx. 3 hours.
The first part of the day we'll be mostly in the shade so you might need warmer clothes. A windproof /waterproof jacket and a warm fleece and hiking shoes, as well as trekking sticks, are recommended.

What to Bring: Hiking shoes, a wind jacket, a warm layer, sunscreen, hat, poles if you have them. Please also have with you some snacks: dried fruits, nuts, fresh fruit, and 1.5 liters of water! Lunch options are available on route after our activity has been completed. We will discuss and chose an appropriate location. If time is limited, we can have a picnic lunch with us and avoid a lunch stop all together.
