by Aug 20, 2020Tirana Outdoors

Summer can be very hot in parts of Albania, but luckily there are runaway spots to cool off like Pogradec & surrounding villages on the shores of Ohrid Lake, ancient name Lyhnid, one of the oldest in the world, and the deepest in the Balkans. This weekend we stay overnight at a waterfront guesthouse in Lin, a small village with traces of civilization from the iron age, build on a peninsula stretching on Lake Ohrid.

We visit Lake Prespa and enjoy a boat ride towards Maligrad Island and St. Marie’s church built inside a cave dating back to 1369. We will enjoy the local delicacy dishes of Koran Fish cooked with local ingredients and old recipes.

Other attractions include Tushemisht, Drilon as well as a Wine Tasting visit to a very special small winery producing some of the best white wines in Albania. RSVP via email info@expatsinalbania
